RESPITE CARE WORKER
@ Hand in Hand Early Childhood Services
(Part-time: 2 to 10 hrs/wk)
Position Summary:
Respite Care Workers are primarily responsible for providing respite care to proctor children and treatment foster care children while proctor and treatment foster care parents attend weekly support meetings or treatment reviews at the Knott site. They may also provide respite services at the Knott site on other days that respite is needed.
Schedule - Monday 6:15pm to 8:15pm plus day hours when parents have meetings. Must be able to commit to 6 months.
Education/Experience Required:

High School diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Experience with children and/or youth necessary, at least one year of experience preferred.

Knowledge of Early Childhood Development and behavior management desired.

Bilingual skills preferred but not required.

Must pass a criminal history background check, conducted after hire.

Bloodborne Pathogens training is required on the first day of employment.

Provides emergency first-aid, as needed, and maintains a current standard first-aid/CPR certification.
