“Purple Woman’s” Planned Gift Caps a Lifetime of Caring
Lantern Society member Linda K. Anderson is fondly known as “Purple Woman” by her friends because of her fondness for wearing that particular color. She is a native Oregonian and retired four years ago from Kaiser Permanente after 25 years of service. She believes in community involvement; a few of her favorite charities include Morrison Child and Family Services, the Oregon Symphony, the Oregon Humane Society and her church. She provides a loving home for four rescue cats and a dog.
Linda joined Morrison’s Board of Directors in 1994 and served until 2000. She also spent a year volunteering every Monday with the children at Morrison’s Hand in Hand Early Childhood program, and was a Big Sister for two girls at Morrison’s Rosemont residential facility. Based on these experiences, Linda decided to make a planned gift and include Morrison in her will.
“This organization does an amazing job of helping children deal with their histories and move forward to have a normal and happy life. I would do anything to give these children back the childhood that they never had. Naming Morrison in my will is to me a powerful way to endorse the good that Morrison Child and Family Services is doing for children,” Linda says.
